Christian Adoh is an enthusiastic, self-motivated, changemaker and energetic person, eager to learn new things and use his leadership and entrepreneurial skills to benefit rural communities in Benin Republic and Africa.
Holder of Tropical Agricultural Studies Diploma with First Class Honours, he is a senior technician in Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Management with more than 4 years' professional experience in agribusiness and a Mastercard Foundation Alumnus Scholar (University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin).
Passionate about food system sustainability, equity and rural women empowerment, he Co-Founded BIO PLANET TMC Ltd in Benin where he is the Chief Executive Officer. The progress at BIO PLANET TMC Ltd in Benin and impact created allowed him to win the Resolution Project Fellowship in June 2022 and successfully complete the Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellowship on Entrepreneurship at Queen's Innovation Centre, Class of 2023. He was also winner of the Innovative Project Prize awarded by the West African Economic and Monetary Union (SBPME - UEMOA, 2023) and the Best Innovations' Prize at African Centre of Excellence for Water and Sanitation with BIO PLANET TMC Ltd, and has successfully completed the 2023 Global AgriFood TechPreneur Program, making it to the Top 10 highest scored entrepreneurs out of 600 admitted.
Christian attended EmpowerED Program (Innovation in Entrepreneurship and Education), Bangladesh 2023 where he was selected as student speaker and has been selected as Youth Delegate in The World Bank Group Youth Summit, Washington D.C. from May 25-26, 2023 and in the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi, Kenya from November 27-01 December, 2023.
Going forward, he served as Campus Director at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin in the 2022 Millennium Fellowship Program. Through workshops, various presentations and project development, he successfully led the cohort and achieved the program's goals. Out of 22 Millennium Fellows admitted in Benin, 21 successfully completed their projects and received certification.
Very committed to empowering other young entrepreneurs in Africa, he served as Program Mentor at Queen's Innovation Centre for the 2024 Jim Leech Mastercard Foundation Fellowship on Entrepreneurship where he played a crucial part in shaping the professional development and success of Fellows, fostering a supportive and enriching environment for their growth.
To end, Christian is a Monitoring Committee Member of Sahel Women's Empowerment and Demographic Dividend (SWEDD) Project at University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin. His mission is to promote access to education for young girls from vulnerable groups in particular, contribute to the eradication of gender-based violence and empower rural women. The overall goal of SWEDD project is to accelerate the demographic transition, to spur the demographic dividend, and to reduce gender inequality in the Sahel region.
