Our impact till date
Growing impact, seeding a greener and inclusive future. We are transforming communities and ecosystems in Benin and across West Africa through regenerative agriculture, circular-economy innovation, and community empowerment.
Agriculture & Environment: We have regenerated more than 500 hectares of degraded farmland in Benin, increasing crop yields by 40% and reducing pest attacks by 60% with our organic pest-control fertilizer. Soil health has strengthened with up to 57% higher carbon sequestration. Through waste recycling, we have prevented over 210 tons of carbon emissions, improving air quality for more than 90,000 people. By 2030, we aim to recycle over 100,000 tons of biodegradable waste, produce more than 60,000 tons of organic fertilizer across West Africa, create 2,100 green jobs, and help millions of smallholder farmers increase yields by up to 45%, while reducing carbon emissions by 70,000 tons.
Empowerment & Economy: We have trained more than 650 women and Indigenous farmers and created over 70 green jobs, with women representing 75% of our workforce. More than 500 women have been socially included through our programs, enabling 300 children to attend school. Our activities contribute approximately 1% to the local economy of Pobe in Benin, with a regional target of 5% by 2030.
Public Health & Future Goals: More than 10,000 end consumers now enjoy chemical-free, nutritious agricultural products in Benin, while our health initiatives have supported more than 5,000 children. By 2030, our solution will provide clean air, healthy soils, and nutritious food to more than 10 million people, contributing to hunger eradication and long-term community resilience across West Africa.
Issue Areas
Agriculture
Across Benin and West Africa, agriculture remains the backbone of livelihoods and national economies. Yet this foundation is weakening under the combined weight of intensive chemical use, unsustainable farming practices, soil degradation, and climate stress. More than 150 million hectares of land across West Africa, including over 2 million hectares in Benin, …
Environment & Climate
In Benin and West Africa, the accelerating hazards of climate change are reshaping landscapes, livelihoods, and ecosystems. Intermittent and torrential rains, combined with rising temperatures, have intensified soil erosion, stripping the land of the nutrients that sustain fertility and productivity. In response to these changing conditions, many …
Equality & Empowerment
When rural women are empowered and have access to the resources they need, communities move one step closer to ending hunger and poverty. Across Benin and West Africa, women make up the majority of small-scale farmers, yet they often face unequal access to land, financial services, and agricultural training. BIO PLANET TMC Ltd works to change this reality by empowering rural, low-income women with affordable, …
Testimonials
I didn’t realize how much the quality of what we consume influences our well-being. Since I started buying organic products from farmers in the area, I have noticed that my health has improved. I feel more energetic, and my family also has fewer health problems. I approached them to find out the origin of the magic and they told me about BIO PLANET TMC. I thank the company for making healthy food accessible and contributing to the preservation of our environment.
Before using the pest control granulated organic fertilizer, my fields were very low in nutrients, and my yields decreased, significantly. This year, thanks to the organic fertilizer provided by the company, I have seen my yields increase by 35%. This allowed me to invest in my children’s education.
Today, we are very honored and grateful to have BIO PLANET TMC Ltd in our town. Their waste collection and recycling initiative greatly benefits our rural communities and we are committed to supporting them for a healthy and livable environment. Also, we are happy with their dynamism in empowering rural women for food system sustainability in Pobe, Benin.
I am honored to have known BIO PLANET TMC Ltd in 2023. Their initiative to empower rural women through practical training in Pobe has been really impactful to date. I was able to master good agricultural practices such as techniques for spreading organic fertilizer, crops maintenance and yields conservation. This contributed to an increase in my agricultural income up to 25%.
Before joining BIO PLANET TMC Ltd's climate education program, I struggled to understand how climate change was affecting my farm. Through the training, I learned climate-smart practices such as soil conservation and organic farming. Today, my crops are more resilient, losses have reduced, and I feel confident managing my land. As an Indigenous woman, this knowledge has empowered me to support my family and share climate solutions within my community.
My oil palm and orange plantations were suffering from poor soil fertility and unpredictable yields. Fruits often fell before reaching full maturity, and production was declining year after year. When I started applying the quality and affordable pest-control granulated organic fertilizer produced by BIO PLANET TMC Ltd, the improvement was immediate and very encouraging. My orange trees now produce larger fruits with better color, stronger aroma, and richer juice. The fruits also store better and remain firm for a longer period.
Before discovering the organic fertilizer produced by BIO PLANET TMC Ltd, my maize fields were losing productivity every year. The soil had become hard and exhausted, and despite all my efforts, harvests remained low and unpredictable. After applying the granulated organic fertilizer for two farming seasons, everything changed. The soil regained life, crop growth became uniform, and my yields increased by 40%, making my farm profitable again. With this improvement, I no longer struggle to pay school fees, buy books, or provide uniforms for my children.
