Through the support of Purpose Earth, we will be able to recycle hundreds of tons of biodegradable waste, increase our organic fertilizer production capacity to reach and serve more women and indigenous small-scale farmers in need, across Pobè, Benin, and create an environmentally friendly agricultural ecosystem.

Empowering Local Youth: Christian Adoh’s Insights from the 2023 World Bank Group Youth Summit on Global Crises

BIO PLANET TMC Ltd was selected to participate in the experience-sharing and capacity-building workshop for entrepreneurial support for students in November 2023. This workshop was organized by the Biovalor cluster through the Solidarity Fund for Innovative Projects (FSPI) financed by the French Embassy in Benin. During the insightful workshop, the actors of the students entrepreneurship support structures at University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin and the “AgroVallée Incubation” representatives welcomed around a table bearers of the entrepreneurial program from the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Abomey-Calavi. BIO PLANET TMC Ltd and the Biological and Agropastoral Cooperative Center, specializing respectively in the production of granulated organic fertilizer and the production of ginger-based beer, had the opportunity to present their different projects to the team of experts and coaches. Comments and suggestions were provided to them for better implementation of their projects in Benin Republic.

An 8-month entrepreneurial program (January-August 2023) delivered by Queen’s University, Dunin-Deshpande Queen’s Innovation Centre in collaboration with Mastercard Foundation, which allowed them to better develop their entrepreneurial skills and move BIO PLANET TMC Ltd forward creating social impact. They went through three (3) different phases of the program which each brought significant improvement to their business and transformational leadership career. © Explore Entrepreneurship Phase (January – February 2023) Completed milestones : •Making observations through interviews & some other means; •Clearly defining and validating the problem they are solving by speaking to end users ; •Validating or invalidating key assumptions which are the basis of creating the solution they want to work on, ideate – generate solutions to the problem they are solving ; •Creating a journey map of end users’ experience using their solution (granulated organic fertilizer) © Ignite Entrepreneurship Phase (March – April 2023) Completed Milestones : •Developing channels to market and reaching out to any necessary partners •Creating a business model or a plan for funding their solution ; •Prototyping their solution in the simplest way possible that still allows them to generate meaningful feedback from end users ; •Validating all critical assumptions by creating experiments and testing solution using the minimum viable product. © Launch Entrepreneurship Phase (May – August 2023) Completed milestones: •Piloting the solution in a more real life scenario ; •Generating expressions of interest, end users (local farmers of Pobè, Benin) ; •Creating a plan to scale.
