Land at the Heart of the Sustainable Development Agenda

From December 2nd to 9th, 2024, Christian Adoh, Co-Founder and CEO of BIO PLANET TMC Ltd, is participating in the 16th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This opportunity, fully funded by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in partnership with the G20 Global Land Initiative and the International Trade Centre, marks a significant milestone for sustainable development. Christian Adoh will showcase the farmland restoration journey of their business, share experiences, strengthen partnerships with government agencies and sustainability-focused organizations, and position BIO PLANET TMC Ltd as a key player in social impact and innovation across the agricultural and environmental sectors. As a Mastercard Foundation Alumnus Scholar and graduate of the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences (FSA) at the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) in Benin, he leverages his transformational leadership and entrepreneurial skills to support disadvantaged farming communities. BIO PLANET TMC Ltd, increases access to high-quality organic fertilizer in granule form for women and indigenous smallholder farmers in Pobè, Benin, West Africa. Their mission encompasses farmland restoration, food security through biodegradable waste recycling, and farmer empowerment via training initiatives in sustainable agricultural and environmental practices. Over the next five years, BIO PLANET TMC Ltd envisions positively transforming the lives of over 1,000,000 marginalized women and indigenous people across West Africa and converting more than 50,000 hectares of farmland into fertile, sustainable agricultural hubs.

Transformational leadership: Christian Adoh’s impact at the University of Abomey-Calavi and beyond

Christian Adoh served as Campus Director at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin in the 2022 Millennium Fellowship Program. Through workshops, various presentations and project development, he successfully led the cohort and achieved the program’s goals. Out of 22 Millennium Fellows admitted in Benin, 21 successfully completed their projects and received certification. This professional journey of transformational leadership allowed Christian to develop confidence and team management qualities, useful for the growth of BIO PLANET TMC Ltd.

From February 24-25, 2024, Christian Adoh, participated in the Discover Model United Nations Africa Conference as Delegate from Benin.

The 2-day video conference brought together Delegates and Chairs from over 30 countries, discussing plans for appropriate and sustainable solutions to the world current crises, namely the migration crisis, conflicts and social inequalities in Africa.

Christian Adoh represented BIO PLANET TMC Ltd in the Climate Innovation Challenge from July to August 2023. He was selected among 30 change-makers in the world to participate in this Program. The Program in collaboration with The Resolution Project, Explorate, PathFinder and UNDP – Bangladesh aimed to develop innovative solutions to reduce the harmful effects of climate change in rural communities around the world.
