The Youth Summit 2023 : From the Ground Up : Local Solutions to Drive Global Impact, was mainly focused on world current crises, including climate change, environmental pollution by waste, wars and forced displacement, energy shortages, worldwide inflation…
Young people are among the most vulnerable to these crises. Youth unemployment is at its highest level since 1991. Almost half of the global refugee population is under 18. And as climate change worsens, our future looks less and less certain.
As the World Bank Group pushes to correct course on poverty reduction and support resilient recovery, the Summit localized the spotlight, shifting power to youth on the ground. Christian Adoh in collaboration with other young people in the world bring some of the boldest solutions at the local level. In towns and villages around the world, they are finding innovative ways to tackle these crises.
Christian learnt a lot from the World Bank Group and other change-makers around the world and is applying the new skills acquired to local crises (food insecurity, environmental pollution by waste,…) for effectiveness and sustainable solutions.
